Easily deliver live, on-demand and mobile content to Windows Media, Flash and even iOS devices (iPhone/iPad). In this fastpaced session we will create new content at higher quality and with smaller file size, and then deliver it adaptively, cross-platform and cross-device. Learn how to use SharePoint to deliver live and on-demand media and see how you can serve content directly from your SharePoint database or media servers and learn about using SharePoint as your primary media portal, with built-in media players that work across multiple platforms. Do you want to sell sugar water for the rest of your life, or do you want to change the world? - Steve Jobs when recruiting the CEO of Pepsi for Apple.
I first heard that from one of my mentors many years ago. Shine a little light on those areas that you think can be improved. Highlight the accomplishments of your people. And most importantly be a guide for your people and industry. Isn't that what a lighthouse does? So shine a little light and guide your organization's ship to the future.
Changing the status quo and the world through inspiration is one of the qualities of a leader. Leaders need to be able to see the big picture but more importantly they need to show people how to expand their sometime narrow focus and show them where they fit into that big picture.
Leaders need to have a forward-looking vision. They need to be able to see what's coming down the road in terms of what will affect their industry, their organization, and their people. They diligently strive to stay ahead of the market and evaluate how emerging ideas are going to affect their future.
Take a look to the left and I think you will see what I mean. Can there be a more important skill in a leader? How many of us have been kept in the dark by a poor leader who could just not communicate effectively? In today's world we have so many possibilities for communication that a leader must both learn and use new methods of communicating. All of those social networking technologies can certainly fit into a leader's arsenal.
